Jung is a former national swimmer with a 25-year journey in the aquatic world, spanning roles from Aquatic Director and Head Lifeguard to Swimming Instructor. Hi! My name is Jackson Levin, and I am a trumpet instructor and brass specialist. Specializing in trumpet performance and pedagogy, I earned my bachelor's degree in music performance from the Herb Alpert School of Music at UCLA. I've played trumpet for over 18 years and have studied with lauded trumpet players, including Jens Lindemann, Thomas Hooten, Jennifer Marotta, and Adam Luftman. As a performer, I've played with the UCLA Philharmonia, Wind Ensemble, Brass Ensemble, and Early Music Ensemble. I am currently a participating member of the Stanford Medicine Orchestra and have performed in various pit orchestras for many student-led musical productions, including Fiddler on the Roof, Assassins, Sweeney Todd, and Cinderella (to name a few). I was the lead trumpet player in a jazz septet from 2008-2012, and currently play in a jazz quartet alongside three other Bay Area Musicians: Patrick Talesfore, Jr., Jesus Ramos, and Nima Hafezieh. Overall, I have a strong background in classical and jazz performance. As a music educator, I firmly believe in the importance of offering gentle and supportive guidance to my students while working collaboratively through difficult musical concepts and techniques. By emphasizing the importance of patience and perseverance, I help students analyze difficult musical passages and phrases using a measure-by-measure approach. I believe that both attention to detail and freedom of creative expression can instill a deep understanding and lifelong passion for music that inspires students to derive both joy and curiosity in their practice and performance.

I have toured around the world with bands such as Guns N Roses, Dokken, Michael Angelo Batio, Ratt and Metallica. I have studio experience. Over 20+ experience in teaching, touring and recording. I specialize in rock, metal, blues, fingerstyle, pop acoustic, and classical music. I can teach beginners how to start correctly yet learn fast from techniques I developed myself and learned from guitar masters such as Joe Satriani, John Mayer, Steve Vai and George Lynch themselves. I started out teaching myself guitar at the age of 12. I moved to the U.S. in 2001 and studied music for 15 years receiving my B.M. and M.M in music and audio production at San Francisco State University. I then moved to Los Angeles then studied and trained with John Mayer, Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, George Lynch and many others. I have performed hundreds of concerts in the U.S. as well in Europe and the Middle East with Artists such as Ozzy Osbourne, Metallica, Guns N Roses, Michael Angelo Batio, Ratt, Sammy Hagar, Dokken and many others. I ranked #1 in the Slash Guitar Center competition. I was in the "list of top 5 guitar players ever" according to The Examiner, also picked as one of the best guitarists of 2013 and 2014 consecutively in the Rockwell UnScene magazine, and ranked 3rd in the Steve Vai Sam Ash Best in Shred competition. I find a student's strengths and weaknesses using various ways to encourage each student. I am very patient, kind, flexible, and enthusiastic and I love working with children as much as adults. I strongly support basic skills: sight-reading, pitch and tone. I have 25 years experience teaching kids and adults guitar. Also performing live and in the studio.
