My name is Desmond Frempong, and basketball has been my passion for over 30 years, playing through high school and coaching at both youth and high school levels. I've had the privilege of coaching at Ayala High School in Chino Hills and Glendora High School in Glendora. Currently, I am actively involved in youth and high school refereeing, and I also have experience working with youth summer leagues. With over 18 years of playing experience, I've been coaching private and group tennis lessons for about 6 years. I've had the pleasure of coaching adults and kids of all levels at a private club in the Bay Area and various locations in Irvine. As a former junior tennis tournament player and collegiate athlete, I bring a wealth of knowledge to our sessions. I am a passionate tennis player who started training at the age of 5. Since that day, my life has revolved around tennis! I played professionally as a junior tennis player, participating in weekly USTA and UTR tournaments and leagues and winning over 25 tournaments. I also played in many academies abroad, such as Nadal Tennis Academy and Ferrero Tennis Academy. In high school, I played varsity singles number 2 and then singles number 3 in college. I am currently majoring in kinesiology, and I enjoy fitness training and playing tennis with my friends and younger siblings. I have completed the USTA Coaching Fundamentals Workshop, and I am currently working towards my coaching certification.
