I am a Professional Golf Coach with over 20 years of full-time coaching experience. My passion for the game began while playing golf with my father, and I went on to play collegiately at Flagler College in St. Augustine, Florida. During my time as a member of the Flagler College golf team, I often found myself helping out my teammates during practice. It was then that I realized my passion for coaching, and upon graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, I quickly sought out professional coaching opportunities. Currently, I am the Director of Instruction for the Weston Hills Golf Academy and head up the First Tee Program at Weston Hills Country Club. Much of my career was spent as the Head Instructor for the PGA TOUR Golf Academies in St. Augustine, FL. During my time with TOUR Academies, I had the opportunity to observe and work closely with some of the top players and coaches in the world, giving me a unique, fundamental philosophy of coaching. One of my most interesting coaching experiences was representing the PGA TOUR as the Head Coach of the Chinese National Golf Team during the 2010 Asian Olympic Games in Guangzhou, China. I have a true passion for coaching and thrive on helping players of all ages and skill levels achieve their goals. I especially enjoy coaching junior golfers, where I can introduce the many lessons that golf offers both on and off the course. I believe strongly in providing my students with the necessary fundamentals for all areas of the game, including Full Swing, Short Game, and On Course Instruction. Lucas has been playing the game since the age of three and is able to adapt to each and everyone’s individual learning style. With over 40 years of experience and over 10,000 hours of instruction, Lucas has a keen eye to not only diagnose the fault(s) but to offer clear concise solutions and remedies to help any golfer’s level of player improve. It is critical that you practice with a real purpose as time is of the essence and we rarely have the luxury of time to work on our golf game improvement. It’s usually unstructured practice at best which can oftentimes lead to engraining bad habits. Change is often feared especially when we live in such a quick fix click button make it happen world. As in life… there is no quick fix in golf either. You must practice with a purpose and give each practice session structure to develop positive habits to reinforce when you play.
